sight!

This boring looking machine allows a person to actually take in visual information through the tongue! basically a person without site can wear a video camera on a headpiece, the video information goes into a computer- the out into a small postage stamp size thingy that you put on your tongue, this transmission goes into the tongue and is then reorganized as a visual picture in your brain! I emailed them last week to see if I could try it, maybe make some drawings or something. cool huh? their website www. wicab.us/ soo cool

Poetry in the Crapper

Despite my totally crass blog-title, this is totally cool:

I'm in the process of befriending the poet. We can write things in bathrooms together!!

Global Ho'town

My cute editor-friend Dar (who was at the readin') is launching a cool story-site with her business partner. Here's their spiel:

"SEND US A FEW WORDS ABOUT YOUR HOMETOWN

Coming Soon -- GLOBALHOMETOWN.com, featuring narrative accounts from around the world of people's hometown.

Think ..MySpace meets Norman Rockwell and Thornton Wilder.

Your descriptions of your hometown can be as short as a sentence or as long as 500 words. At the short end, descriptions can be almost haiku-like about a place and time.

...A favorite cafe somewhere, a wild car ride, a visit to town hall, drinking at the corner bar, driving by a farm, going to a funeral home, reading a morning newspaper... ranging from Beijing to Boston and a thousand places, small and large in-between.

Pictures or other art are also welcome."

Pretty snazz, eh? The site isn't fully up n' running yet, but they're in the process of collecting submissions. Written and visual work are both acceptable. Fun stuff!
